Mist (Midgard, #1) by Susan Krinard Centuries ago, all was lost in the Last Battle when the Norse gods and goddesses went to war. Title: Mist Author: Susan Krinard Series: Midgard, Book 1 Genre: Urban Fantasy Release Date: 16 July Source: From publisher in exchange for an honest review Mist lives a normal life. She has a normal job, a normal boyfriend, and a normal apartment in San Francisco. She never thinks about her past if she can help it. She survived. That’s the end of it. Mist by Susan Krinard is one of the first Valkyrie urban fantasies that I’ve read, so I was immediately intrigued by a book that took inspiration from the Norse myths. I haven’t been reading a lot of urban fantasy lately since I previously overdosed a bit, but I’m happy that I gave Mist a try, since I think I’m ready to jump back into that genre again. Mist, along with her Valkyrie sisters, was given an important job of protecting valuable treasures by Odin before Ragnarok was supposed to descend on the Norse Gods. Mist's job is to protect Gungnir, the spear that can never miss its mark, a job she fails at which causes consternation and fits and starts along the way.
